Advocate Health in Barrington, IL seeks a Cath Lab Technician to support diagnostic and interventional procedures, scrub, circulate and record for Cath/EP and IR, and operate imaging equipment with emphasis on sterile technique and radiation safety.

Collaborate with providers to ensure high-quality imaging, document plans of care, manage supplies, and participate in ongoing education and QA initiatives within the team.

Qualificações

• Current RT licensure in IL and AART.
• BLS and ACLS within 6 months.
• 2-year Radiology associate degree.
• Imaging experience in X-ray or imaging procedures preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Provide scrub support during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
• Competent in all roles for Cath/EP or IR.
• Operate imaging equipment and act as radiation safety resource.
• Communicate clearly with providers and team to ensure QA in imaging, hemodynamics, and oximetry.
• Maintain sterile technique and assist with prepping, draping, and circulating.
• Document care and advocate for patients; identify educational needs.
• Share knowledge through inservices on technical skills, radiation safety, image quality, QA and closure device techniques.
• Assist with supply inventory and serve as technical expert.
• Participate in site or system team meetings and training whenever available.

Major Responsibilities:

• Provides scrub support during diagnostic and interventional procedures; anticipates provider needs.
• Competent in all roles for Cath/EP or IR.
• Demonstrates competence in operation of all imaging and related equipment; serves as a radiation expert resource.
• Provides clear communication, collaborates with providers and team regarding technical issue to ensure reliability of quality assurance in imaging, hemodynamics and oximetry.
• Ensures patient care is delivered in a safe manner and within scope of practice. Sterile technique followed with prepping, draping, assisting and circulating.
• Utilizes safety tools and tactics in all patient care interactions.
• Serves as patient advocate, ensures documentation, educational needs identified and plan of care agreed upon.
• Serves as resource to the team; provides inservices to team relating to technical skill enhancement, radiation safety, image quality, QA and closure device techniques.
• Assist with supply inventory, serves as technical expert and resource.
• Actively participates in site or system teams; attends site staff meetings and ongoing educational offerings as available.

Education/Experience Required:

• Current RT licensure in State of IL and current AART. BLS. ACLS within 6 months of hire.
• 2-year Associate Degree from Accredited School of Radiology.
• Previous Imaging Experience Preferred in Xray, Imaging Special Procedures

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Ability to perform lifting, pulling, pushing activities and stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
