Job summary

Stormont Vail Health in Topeka, KS is seeking a Specialty Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct patient care in ambulatory/acute care, including high-risk medications and sedations, under a non-exempt status.

You will work within the Cardiac and vascular nursing specialty, assess patients, administer meds, coordinate with the care team, document thoroughly, and participate in quality improvement, education, and float as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• RN KSBN license required.
• BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications within 90 days of hire when applicable.
• Experience in a clinic or hospital setting preferred.
• Strong communication and math skills for medication administration.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care as defined by the state nurse practice act.
• Administers prescribed medications and infusions per nursing standards.
• Formulates a prioritized plan of care based on patient problems and outcomes.
• Documents patient information accurately in records.
• Floats to the hospital as needed to perform RN duties.
• Participates in quality improvement and staff education.
