Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health in Virginia is seeking an Invasive Cardiovascular Technologist at Maryview Medical Center to assist physicians in cardiovascular procedures and perform scrub, monitor and circulation roles. You will help with data collection, quality assurance, and patient care across all acuity levels.

Required are a High School Diploma and cardiovascular licensures; BLS, ACLS or PALS are preferred at hire depending on assignment, with Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• BLS Basic Life Support, ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support or PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (preferred at hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care; ACLS or PALS required based on specialty assignment)
• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (required)

Responsibilities

• Age Appropriate Competency: Demonstrate general competency in providing age‑appropriate care, planning, providing and evaluating care based on the physiological, psychosocial, intellectual and safety developmental needs of the patient.
• Utilize appropriate processes and documents in accordance with TJC and other regulatory standards for each patient admitted, transferred or discharged for the invasive procedural area.
• Demonstrate ability to provide comprehensive care to patients.
• Function in all roles (scrub, monitor, and circulate).
• Function as a qualified team member (QTM) in the administration of moderate sedation under the direct supervision of the physician where applicable.
• Provide care in compliance with established policies, procedures and standards of care.
• May include administration of medications, contrast, starting IVs, and IV fluids under the direction of the physician or nurse as prescribed or indicated by the patient’s condition and physician orders.
