Job Summary
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Shift Hours: 5:00 am - 1:30 pm Monday - Friday
Responsibilities
- Responsible for preparing food and setting up for in‑side and outside catered events.
- Adjusts schedule as needed to comply with catered events.
- Communicates politely and effectively with staff and customers.
- Assumes the role of customer advocate.
- Helps wherever and whenever needed during labor shortages to ensure that patients and customers have adequate food supplies.
- Identifies and resolves issues with HAACP compliance.
- Demonstrates a commitment to CARES when communicating to team, coworkers, and customers.
- Demonstrates a commitment to food safety HACCP and FIFO in all work activities and leads others to compliance.
- Responsible for maintaining equipment, cleanliness of kitchen, clean floors, breaking down boxes, etc.
- Cross‑trains to work other food production worker positions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Catering or food service experience preferred.
- Must be able to communicate effectively and follow both verbal and written instructions.
- Must be able to work between the hours of 10:00 am and 6:30 pm and adjust schedule as needed to provide catering event coverage.
- This position is considered non‑essential during emergency conditions and covers other catering positions as needed.
- Willingness to comply with dress code, CARES standards, food safety, and regulatory standards.
- Must have excellent knowledge of or ability and willingness to learn about menu items and recipes.
- Must be able to follow guidelines when preparing, setting up and serving catering events.
- This position requires driving a hospital‑owned vehicle and/or a personally owned vehicle to perform essential job duties.
- In order to be considered, the candidate must:
- Have a valid and current state‑issued driver’s license.
- Maintain and provide proof of automobile insurance (at their own expense) that meets at least the minimum liability coverage limits required by the state of residence.
- Successfully clear a driving record check. Driving records must not include any of the following:
- a suspended or revoked driver’s license;
- three or more moving violations in the past 36 months;
- two or more accidents in the past 36 months;
- one or more instances of driving under the influence (DUI) or driving while intoxicated (DWI) within the past 24 months;
- being at fault in a fatal accident within the past five years;
- leaving the scene of an accident within the past 36 months;
- reckless driving within the past 12 months.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
Physical Demands
- Must possess good physical health.
- Some requirements include but are not limited to standing or walking for long periods of time.
- Lifting at least 50 pounds is required.
- Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.
- Physical Effort required: Constant (67%-100%) – talking, hearing, seeing.
- Frequently (34%-66%) – lifting, carrying, balancing, reaching, handling/feeling.
- Occasionally (1%-33%) – pushing/pulling, stooping, crouching.
