Job summary

Gourmet Dining at Montclair State University in Montclair, NJ is seeking a Catering Shift Supervisor to direct the activities of associates during a shift and ensure that job expectations are met in line with policy and procedure.

The role requires prior catering management experience, with responsibilities including staff training, scheduling, performance evaluation, and reporting on quality, productivity and safety. This is a full-time opportunity with a fixed pay rate of $25.00 per hour.

• Experience evaluating performance and disciplining employees.

Responsibilities

• Direct the activities of associates during a shift and ensure policies are followed.
• Provide training and create work schedules.
• Evaluate performance and reward high performers or address underperformance.
• Prepare production or sales reports and ensure quality, productivity and safety.
• Serve as the contact person for employees with requests for time off and feedback.
• Mentor and develop employees and foster advancement.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
