Job summary

Mississippi State University is seeking a Catering Services Worker to support event operations at campus venues. You will assist with setup, transport equipment and food, serve guests, and break down after events, ensuring smooth service and safety standards.

Ideal candidates have customer service experience and a willingness to work flexible, event-based hours. Training in Food Handling and Alcohol Service may be required.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service experience preferred.
• Previous catering experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Must follow the required dress code.
• Must be available to work event-based hours.
• Must complete Food Handling training as required.

Responsibilities

• Set up catering and event service according to client requests and banquet order.
• Transport and deliver catering food and beverage with supplies and equipment.
• Set up chairs, tables, buffet lines and other event equipment as requested.
• Replenish food and beverage during events.
• Maintain cleanliness of service areas during events.
• Pickup and clean up deliveries after service.
• Break down and return equipment to storage after events.
• Provide excellent customer service to guests.
• Follow safety policies and procedures.
