Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a Catering Server at Gonzaga University in Spokane. You will provide efficient, attentive service and help guests enjoy made-to-order entrées and beverages from Sodexo's menu while maintaining a professional, friendly approach.

Responsibilities include greeting guests, taking orders, recommending menu items, ensuring order accuracy, and maintaining quality and presentation. Typical shifts vary with some flexibility and potential for extended hours.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 1 year related experience.
• May require TIPS/TEAM or equivalent alcohol-service certification.

• Provide knowledgeable recommendations on meals, beverages, and wine; answer questions about allergens and preparation.
• Accurately take and relay orders to the kitchen; confirm orders with guests and process them in the correct sequence.
• Check items for quality and presentation; ensure attractive, appetizing, and consistent plating.
• Monitor guest needs; respond to requests and address concerns professionally.
• Attend shifts on time and comply with schedule; perform other duties as needed.

Employment Type: Full-Time or Part-Time

Pay Range: $17.13 per hour - $20.50 per hour

What You’ll Do:

As a Catering Server at Sodexo, you will provide customers with efficient and attentive service while exceeding the customer’s expectations. The Wait Staff will serve a variety of made-fresh-to-order entrées, appetizers, desserts, and beverage items from Sodexo's restaurant menu while exhibiting a professional, friendly, and attentive approach. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but Sodexo may identify other responsibilities of the position. These responsibilities may differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements.

Responsibilities include:

• Greet and seat guests, present menus, and introduce specials or menu changes.
• Provide knowledgeable recommendations on meals, beverages, and wine, and answer questions about menu items, allergens, and preparation.
• Accurately take and relay orders to the kitchen, confirm orders with guests, and process them in the correct sequence.
• Check all items for quality and completeness, ensuring that presentations are attractive, appetizing, and consistent.
• Monitor guest needs, respond to requests, and address concerns or complaints with professionalism.
• Significant walking or other means of mobility.
• Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time, throughout the entire duration of a shift, which may exceed 8 hours.
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 50 pounds.
• The employee must be able to use hands to finger, handle, feel or reach with hands and arms.
• Ability to taste and smell.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions.
• Attends work and shows for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
• Other duties may be assigned and can differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements.

What You Bring:

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 1 year related experience.
• If applicable, must be at or over the minimum age to serve alcohol based on local city and state regulations
• May require a valid TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures), TEAM (Techniques for Effective Alcohol Management), or equivalent alcohol-service certification, and must comply with all state-specific alcohol training requirements.
