Job summary

SSA Group is hiring a Dishwasher at Brookfield Zoo in Brookfield, IL. You will join a busy kitchen team responsible for cleaning, sanitizing, and organizing dishes and equipment to support daily operations and events.

The role emphasizes standing for long periods, maintaining cleanliness, and adhering to MSDS and sanitation standards to ensure a welcoming guest experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced dish pit environment preferred.
• Ability to stand for long periods and work efficiently.
• Ability to push through dishes and organize the work area.
• Awareness of MSDS and cleanliness protocols in kitchen areas.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize dishes and kitchen equipment.
• Store dishes and equipment properly with the kitchen team.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness including sweeping and mopping surfaces.
• Manage waste disposal and recycling, with proper separation.
• Uphold sanitation requirements and company policies.
• Follow cleaning schedules and assist during events as needed.

Title: Dishwasher

Reports to: Kitchen Manager(s) and Chef Team

Responsibilities

Clean and sanitize dishes and kitchen equipment, including utensils, pots, and pans ensuring they meet standards for safe food preparation

Work with kitchen team to ensure dishes and equipment are stored properly

Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, including sweeping, mopping, and wiping down surfaces

Empty and clean trash and recycling receptacles while ensuring proper waste separation

Maintain a sanitary and organized work environment

Uphold and demonstrate a complete understanding of company policies and procedures

Maintain cleaning schedules to ensure daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks are completed

• Some assistance may be needed during events to pull kitchen items for the set up and tear down of events

Perform other tasks as deemed necessary

Promote an inclusive & supportive approach within the Brand team, with networking continuing at all units.

Focuses on removing barriers and empowering growth and opportunity for team members at all levels.

Leads by example through Sustainability/Conservation efforts; displays knowledge of efforts in business application as well as giving adequate opportunity for teaching to unit staff as necessary.

Engages with SSA/Unit in driving community effort through engagement activities and focus. On opportunities of giving back.

Job Requirements

Must be willing and able to work standing for long periods of time.

Experience with fast-paced dish pit environment preferred.

Ability to push through dishes and organize area as necessary to the business.

Experience with MSDS knowledge and upholds active practice of cleanliness in the dish area while maintaining protocol for dish liquid use.

Responsibly geared towards presenting a clean and welcome experience for guests through upholding sanitation requirements.
