Job summary

Epping Forest Yacht & Country Club is seeking a capable catering events supervisor to ensure the smooth operation of all special events. You will oversee banquet service staff, coordinate with the events team, and guide new employees through training and orientation.

Applicants should have extensive banquet or catering experience, strong organizational skills, and a working knowledge of fine dining etiquette, wines, and beverage service.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak and follow written and/or oral direction in English.
• Minimum of three years full service restaurant, private club server or banquet server experience.
• Minimum of two years management or supervisory position experience.
• Must have good organizational skills.
• Must have a basic understanding of food service (fine dining etiquette, continental cuisine, wines and beverage service.)

Responsibilities

• Oversee the successful operation of all catering events coordinated through the Catering Events Department.
• Supervise the banquet service staff according to their job description to maximize their ability through ongoing training programs.
• Train and execute orientation of new employees.
• Schedule the staff for the following week by the preceding Monday.
• Minimize labor through creative planning and proactive scheduling.
• Create new and unique food and beverage displays.
• Communicate with the event coordinator to ensure member satisfaction.
• Daily plans of operations and closing/reset assignments prepared by leadership.
