Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Food Service Worker for the Atrium Health Cleveland cafeteria in Shelby, NC. The role supports deli, hot foods, salads, desserts and beverages, preparing items, serving customers, and handling cash at breakfast and lunch periods.

This position is full-time, 38 hours per week, with a schedule of Monday through Friday 2pm-11pm and alternating weekends; the posted pay range is $18.85 to $28.30 per hour, reflecting benefits eligibility and opportunities for growth within

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled student in high school or in a high school equivalency program required.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs deli food preparation and ensures items are ready and available.
• Serves food to customers and operates cash register, handling payments and change.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of the deli, caf, and surrounding areas.
• Restocks various areas of the cafeteria.
• Prepares, processes or maintains records, reports, forms and other documentation.

Pay Range:

Essential Functions

• Performs assigned role in ensuring deli food, beverage items, snacks, salads and desserts, a la carte hot foods and hot bar supplies and equipment are ready and available.
• Prepares deli food items.
• Serves food to customers.
• Operates cash register, collects money, makes change and controls cash receipts during breakfast, and lunch meals and during break periods.
• Performs a variety of cleaning and organizing activities.
• Restocks various areas of the cafeteria.
• Prepares, processes or maintains records, reports, forms and other documentation.

Physical Requirements

Almost all of the time is spent standing and walking. Routinely required to bend, stoop, kneel and reach. Routinely lifts or carries items weighing up to 25 pounds. Must have close and intermediate visual acuity. Must be able to hear and verbally communicate.

Education, Experience and Certifications

Currently enrolled student in high school or in a high school equivalency program required. High school diploma or GED preferred. Successful experience in food service fast food operation, or cashier position preferred.
