Rochester Regional Health is seeking a Catering Associate for Canton-Potsdam Hospital. Duties include patient meal service, tray assembly, and in-between meal delivery on a 24-hour portion spanning Weekday and Weekend shifts.

Schedule is 6am to 7pm, with mandatory Saturdays and Sundays every other weekend. Responsibilities involve menu selection handling with dietary restrictions, tray assembly, nursing coordination, and ensuring patient satisfaction while maintaining HACCP standards.

• Conduct catering rounds to check if patients require anything else.
• Retrieve trays from patient rooms after rounds are completed.
• Assist Diet Tech with monitoring NPO, liquid diets, and nutrition handouts.
• Contribute to patient satisfaction by delivering high quality service.
• Follow HACCP guidelines in assembling and distributing food, recording QC information.

Schedule: Weekday and Weekend Shifts: 6am to 7pm, includes mandatory Saturday and Sunday every other weekend

Responsible for patient food service on assigned units , to include menu selections, tray assembly, tray delivery and pickup, special requests and needs, and in-between meal food delivery.

Responsibilities

• 1. (20%) Takes patient menu selections prior to each meal, complying with dietary restrictions on special, modified diets to ensure optimal food preferences are met within guidelines of diet order limitations and offering alternates to menu as allowed to accommodate food allergies and cultural, ethnic and religious preferences.
• 2. (10%) Assembles trays according to patient menu on tray tickets in a timely and accurate manner.
• 3. (10%) Interacts with Nursing to ensure patient diet prescriptions are accurate and patients food needs are met.
• 4. (10%) Completes catering rounds after passing trays to inquire if patient needs anything else.
• 5. (10%) Retrieves trays from patient rooms shortly after completing rounds.
• 6. (10%) Assists Diet Tech with monitoring of patients who are NPO, on liquid diets, have a calorie count ordered, or need nutrition handouts.
• 7. (20%) Contributes to patient satisfaction goals by providing high quality service.
• 8. (10%) Follows HACCP guidelines when assembling and distributing food supplies to ensure quality and safety of food supply, recording information on quality control form.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Moderate - These roles require a combination of movement and stationary work, including frequent standing, walking, and moderate lifting (up to 50 lbs.). Tasks may involve repetitive reaching, bending, pushing, or pulling, along with maintaining awareness in high-traffic or operational areas. Visual focus and spatial awareness are critical in facilities, logistics, or support settings. Emotional demands include managing interruptions, prioritizing tasks, and maintaining compliance with safety standards. Environmental exposures may include equipment noise, shared workspaces, and occasional proximity to hazardous areas. Physical capability screening may be required.

PAY RANGE:

$18.46 - $26.24

The posted pay range is a good faith representation of potential base pay for this position. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates could vary based on position details and FTE. Pay is determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, locations, and contracts.
