Job summary

Lancaster City Council is seeking a Catering Assistant to work at Williamson Park. You’ll be at the heart of daily catering operations, preparing and serving food and drinks while ensuring the highest hygiene standards. You will engage with customers, operate tills, and support stock control and events.

Able to work evenings and weekends with a flexible schedule; Food Hygiene Level 2 is desirable but not essential. This role supports the council’s community safety and service commitments.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be at the heart of daily catering operations, from preparing and serving delicious food and drinks to ensuring cleanliness and hygiene meet the highest standards. You’ll engage with customers, operate tills, assist with stock control, and support special events like children’s parties and weddings. Your attention to allergen management and safe equipment use will be key to our success.

You’re a team player with a passion for excellent customer service and a keen eye for detail. You bring experience in catering operations and understand the importance of hygiene and safety. Local Government Reorganisation

If you are successful in your application, you will initially join Lancaster City Council.
