Job summary

ENGIE North America is building a pipeline of procurement professionals for evergreen opportunities, focusing on category management, strategic sourcing, and project procurement across energy projects.

The Category & Project Procurement Lead will collaborate with Engineering, Development, Construction, and Operations teams to source equipment, materials, and services, supporting multiple project lifecycles with a mix of category management and project procurement responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with relevant experience in procurement.
  • Experience in procurement, supply chain, strategic sourcing, category management, project procurement, or related disciplines.
  • Experience supporting industrial, infrastructure, utilities, energy, construction, manufacturing, EPC, or renewable energy projects preferred.
  • Technical understanding of equipment, materials, engineered systems, construction services, or industrial technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sourcing, procurement, and supplier management strategies that support ENGIE's business objectives.
  • Lead supplier qualification, sourcing events, competitive bidding processes, and contract negotiations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to drive value and operational excellence.
  • Conduct market analysis and monitor industry trends, supplier capabilities, pricing, and supply chain risks.
  • Support procurement activities across equipment, materials, services, and project-related requirements.
  • Partner with Engineering, Development, Pre-Construction, Construction, Operations, and Project Management teams.
  • Support procurement activities throughout the project lifecycle, from development to delivery.
  • Develop and manage contracts, framework agreements, amendments, and supplier performance improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with ENGIE procurement policies, safety requirements, ethical standards, and contractual obligations.

What You Can Expect

ENGIE North America is building a pipeline of talented procurement professionals to support our growing renewable energy, infrastructure, and operational businesses. Through this Evergreen opportunity, we are seeking individuals with experience in strategic sourcing, category management, supplier relationship management, contract negotiations, and project procurement.

As a Category & Project Procurement Lead, you will collaborate with Engineering, Development, Construction, Operations, Project Management and other cross-functional stakeholders to support the sourcing and delivery of equipment, materials, and services across a diverse portfolio of projects and operational requirements.

This role may support category management, project procurement, or a blend of both depending on business needs.

  • Develop and execute sourcing, procurement, and supplier management strategies that support ENGIE's business objectives.
  • Lead supplier qualification, sourcing events, competitive bidding processes, and contract negotiations.

  • Partner with Engineering, Development, Pre-Construction, Construction, Operations, and Project Management teams to support project planning and execution.
  • Support procurement activities throughout the project lifecycle, from development and planning through project execution and delivery.
  • Develop and manage contracts, framework agreements, amendments, and supplier performance improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with ENGIE procurement policies, safety requirements, ethical standards, and contractual obligations.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Strategic Sourcing, Category Management, Project Procurement, Technical Purchasing, or related disciplines.
  • Experience supporting industrial, infrastructure, utilities, energy, construction, manufacturing, EPC, or renewable energy projects preferred.
  • Technical understanding of equipment, materials, engineered systems, construction services, or industrial technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience leading sourcing initiatives, supplier negotiations, supplier relationship management, and contract administration.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of procurement and ERP systems such as SAP, Ariba, Coupa, or similar platforms.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to evaluate supplier capabilities, assess market conditions, and support strategic procurement decisions.
  • Experience supporting renewable energy, power generation, energy storage, utilities, infrastructure, or large-scale capital projects.
  • Experience in category management, project procurement, construction procurement, EPC contracting, or strategic sourcing environments.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes related to technical equipment, electrical systems, mechanical systems, construction services, spare parts, or technical services.

Additional Details

  • Locations may include Houston, TX and/or Westminster, CO based on business needs
  • Hybrid work arrangements - a minimum of three days working in the office weekly is required
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 20% of the time.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements.
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
