Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies seeks a data-driven planner to partner with buyers in building category financial plans and forecasts for department store formats. You will manage assortment and open-to-buy, analyze promotions, coordinate with replenishment and vendors, and translate data into strategies that improve sales, margins and turnover.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or related field with two years of planner/assistant buyer experience.
• High accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage complex, fast-paced retail environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiar with retail industry terms/processes.
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.

Responsibilities

• Create/manage financial plans by period (sales, markdowns, gross margin, turnover) for department store formats.
• Create/manage assortment plans and product allocation for department, marketplace and food stores.
• Provide analyses to drive sales, margins and inventory strategies.
• Support advertising/display plans and on-floor turn over optimization.
• Re-forecast in-season sales and margins; recommend improvement actions.
• Reconcile department store open-to-buy and communicate status to stakeholders.
• Analyze seasonal/fashion categories and plan for next season.
• Facilitate team meetings and coordinate with planning teams; work with replenishment to manage inventory.
• Create/manage sales markdown reports/forecasts for department stores.
• Determine plan-o-gram minimums with inputs from merch managers and vendors.
• Conduct enterprise-wide store tours and monitor industry trends.
• Analyze promotions/markdowns results and adjust to meet business goals.
• Ensure proper planning for new/remodeled stores and inventory allocation.
• Travel to markets and for vendor appointments.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
