Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a Category Merchandiser to analyze a portfolio of Categories, manage item assortment, pricing, and vendor negotiations in conjunction with the Category Manager. You will use price optimization software to plan scenarios and adjust pricing to meet targets, collaborating with Shelf/Banner Merchandising, Pricing, Replenishment, and other teams.

The role supports achieving Banner strategy, reviews planograms, and helps develop optimal shelf presentation while maintaining strong

Qualifications

3-5 years combined experience in retail, merchandising, category, pricing, logistics, supply chain, procurement, and distribution.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
Knowledge of SEGA, DSS, WMS, Relex, Inforem, Revionics, MSP, Syndicated Data (IRI/Nielsen), Market Track (Ad Tracking).

Responsibilities

Provide support to Category Merchandising & Pricing departments to meet departmental strategies and initiatives.
Collaborate across departments to meet budgeted metrics like Sales, Margin, and Market Share.
Analyze planograms and test sets for compliance; assist with pricing and promo planning to drive profitability.
Assist in negotiating vendor programs and optimizing item mix and pricing.
