Job summary

DHL Corporate Procurement in the Americas is seeking an experienced procurement professional to lead transportation category strategy, negotiate with suppliers, and drive regional sourcing initiatives. You will collaborate with local teams and leverage tools like Jaggaer ASO, Salesforce, and Evolution to optimize spend and supplier performance.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years in procurement, with strong negotiation and data-driven decision making.

• More than 8 years of experience in procurement or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategy for the Transportation Americas category and maintain knowledge of carrier modes (Ground, Air, Ocean).
• Specialize in strategic sourcing of transportation capacities to reduce costs and ensure quality and supply.
• Manage regional sourcing initiatives from demand analysis to contract implementation, including carrier negotiations via Jaggaer ASO.
• Support global sourcing initiatives and projects from demand analysis to contract implementation.
• Develop knowledge of local markets, category trends, suppliers and key local players.
• Ensure country/sub-region requirements are addressed in corporate/ regional strategies.
• Prepare, conduct and lead tenders (incl. e-sourcing).
• Supplier management: database maintenance, supplier classification, new sources identification (Salesforce / Evolution).
• Track and maintain data in procurement tools: suppliers, rates, spend, projects, master data.
• Contribute to cooperation between countries and sourcing.

Job Purpose

Implement best local / sub-regional category specific strategies. Work closely with local procurement teams to ensure, identify and recommend ´best in class´ suppliers and maintain good relationship. Prepare and lead supplier negotiations at local level.

Your tasks

• Lead the strategy for the Transportation Americas category. Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of relevant carrier modes (Ground, Air, Ocean).
• Specializes in strategic sourcing of transportation capacities to reduce costs and ensure quality and supply as needed by the business / function in scope.
• Manage regional sourcing initiatives (from demand analysis to contract implementation) incl. preparation and leading of carrier negotiations via Jaggaer’s ASO platform.
• Support of Global sourcing initiatives and projects (from demand analysis to contract implementation).
• Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of local: - markets / category trends - suppliers / key local players
• Ensure country/ sub-region requirements and issues are addressed in corporate / regional strategies
• Prepare, conduct and lead tenders (incl. e-sourcing)
• Ensure policy adherence of local divisional colleague
• Supplier management: - database maintenance - supplier classification - new sources identification (Salesforce / Evolution)
• Track and maintain accurate data in the Procurement tools: - suppliers, rates, spend, projects, master data
• Contribute to the cooperation between countries and sourcing

• Connect with and influence other specialist departments and 3rd parties e.g. external service providers
• May convince others to accept new concepts, practices, and approaches
• Build strong, trusting cross-functional relationships with DPDHL managers
• Understand customer and key stakeholders interests and concerns and advise direct reports, customers and key stakeholders
• Provide technical guidance to line managers and employees
