Job summary

Our Client, a leader in clean energy, is seeking a Category Manager with expertise in BESS procurement, complex contract negotiation, and end-to-end RFx execution to drive strategic infrastructure projects in Denver. You will negotiate MSAs and SOWs, lead RFx processes from RFI to award, and develop category strategies while collaborating with legal, engineering, and leadership.

A Bachelor's degree and strong sourcing experience in energy are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field with proven sourcing and contract negotiation experience.
• Strong commercial acumen and experience procuring capital equipment and services; knowledge of TCO and pricing structures.
• Sourcing experience in energy/renewable sector; familiarity with BESS or grid-scale tech preferred.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate, draft, and manage complex commercial contracts (MSAs, SOWs, and equipment supply agreements).
• Lead end-to-end RFx sourcing lifecycles (RFIs, RFPs, RFQs) from market evaluation to supplier award.
• Formulate category and supply chain strategies by analyzing market dynamics, lead times, total cost of ownership, and pricing models.
• Collaborate with legal, engineering, project management, and executive leadership across multiple clean energy workstreams.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate, draft, and manage complex commercial contracts (MSAs, SOWs, and equipment supply agreements) to optimize terms and mitigate operational risk.
• Lead end-to-end competitive RFx sourcing lifecycles (RFIs, RFPs, RFQs) from initial market evaluation through supplier selection and award.
• Formulate actionable category and supply chain strategies by analyzing market dynamics, lead times, total cost of ownership (TCO), and supplier pricing models.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with legal, engineering, project management, and executive leadership to align procurement initiatives across multiple clean energy workstreams for Our Client.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related field, combined with proven experience in strategic sourcing and commercial contract negotiation.
• Strong commercial acumen and experience procuring both capital equipment and technical services, with deep understanding of total cost of ownership (TCO) and pricing structures.
• Prior sourcing experience in the energy or renewable power sector, with preferred exposure to battery energy storage systems (BESS), grid-scale technologies, or global OEM supply chains.
