About Aonic

Aonic is deploying artificial intelligence (AI) to drastically reduce the cost of living. We are building Aonic Club: the club contract Costco proved over four decades, rebuilt online and AI-native. An annual membership gets Americans elevated everyday products at cost, starting with functional nutrition and moving into health care next.

We make the products ourselves and run sourcing, content, forecasting and service with AI agents, which deletes the 30-40% of retail and marketing layers inside every consumer price. The savings go to members, not margins: under Kirkland wherever Costco competes, and on average 80% below the brands.

Our ambition is big: 1 million members and a $10 billion company within a few years, built by a handful of humans with extreme leverage: AI agents running the operations, a community as the channel, and the AI dividend delivered to everyday America.

The Role

As Category CEO for Diagnostics, you build a new Aonic business from zero: magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomography (CT) scans, blood tests and everything adjacent, sold at cost. A hospital charges about $2,000 cash for a brain MRI for which Medicare pays a freestanding centre about $195. We want every American to pay close to the real cost, booked in minutes, with results explained by AI and followed up by a doctor.

Aonic is organized around Category CEOs, one per category we take on. You own your category the way a founder owns a company: which scans and tests we offer, which imaging centres and labs deliver them, what they cost and how members book, get and understand their results.

You own the cost, not the price: every scan and test sells at what we pay our partners, with no markup, at one transparent price. Your north star is your category's revenue at constant cost, guarded by medical quality, member experience and compliance.

We are looking for an exceptional operator from health tech who builds with AI first and masters a regulated business fast. You will work side by side with the CEO, our medical director and our health care regulatory counsel. Clinical decisions always stay with physicians; you build everything around them.

This role is intentionally broad and demanding. It is designed for someone who wants a whole business, years earlier than anywhere else would hand them one.

What You'll Own
The Range
  • Launch blood testing at cost first: an annual panel and add‑ons, ordered by a physician, drawn at national lab networks, with every result explained in the Aonic app.
  • Then imaging: coronary calcium scores, MRI and CT on a doctor's order at cash prices close to what Medicare pays, and elective whole‑body MRI with clear disclosure. The Bay Area first, then the next metros.
  • Decide what comes next and when: ultrasound, mammography, body composition and more.
Partners & Pricing
  • Own every partner: national labs and lab‑ordering platforms, imaging centre groups and independent centres, and the physician networks that order and read.
  • Negotiate cash rates at volume, scanner capacity (including evening and weekend slots), turnaround times and data integration, and keep re‑bidding. Because we sell at cost, every dollar you take out goes to members.
  • Set one transparent price per scan and test, the same for everyone.
Medical Quality & Compliance
  • Work with our medical director and counsel on physician orders, follow‑up of abnormal results, state rules for consumer lab testing, patient privacy and every claim in our marketing.
  • Hold partners to accreditation, board‑certified radiologists and clear turnaround times. A finding that needs follow‑up never gets lost.
AI‑Native Operations
  • Build booking, ordering, results and follow‑up with AI agents, together with our founding engineer: the AI explains every result in plain language, flags what needs a doctor and links each finding to the right next step.
  • Design the agents, set their rules and measure them, so the category scales with very few humans.
Team & Playbook
  • Hire a partner and operations lead for diagnostics, and grow the team only as volume grows.
  • Write the playbook for health care at Aonic, together with the Category CEO for Online Care & Prescriptions.
Hard Requirements

To be successful in this role, all of the following must be true:

  • At least 4 years of operating experience in operations, strategy and operations, business operations or general management at a high‑growth health care or technology startup, or at McKinsey, Boston Consulting Group or Bain followed by hands‑on operating work.
  • Health care delivery experience: you have built or run something with clinicians, labs, imaging centres or provider networks, and you know how medical services are ordered, delivered, priced and regulated.
  • End‑to‑end ownership with numbers: you have launched or run a service line, a market, a partner network or an operations function, and you can show the revenue, cost or speed you moved.
  • AI‑native in practice: you have built AI agents or automations that run real operations, not just prototypes, with outcomes you can measure.
  • Commercial instinct: you have negotiated with providers, partners or customers, and you enjoy sitting across the table from a hospital group or a lab.
  • Degree from a top university in engineering, computer science, science, economics or business, with top grades.
  • Extremely hungry and ambitious, actively seeking responsibility and steep growth.
  • Strong work ethic and intensity, comfortable working fully onsite in San Francisco, 8 am to 7 pm Monday to Thursday and 8 am to 5 pm on Fridays.
The Profile We're Looking For

This role requires a rare mix of traits:

  • Book‑smart: a strong analytical foundation; you know what a scan costs a centre before you ask for its price.
  • Street‑smart: practical judgment and commercial intuition; a feel for when a cash rate can still move and which partner will deliver.
  • People‑smart: physicians, partners and teammates trust you quickly, and you stay calm and clear with a worried member.
  • AI‑native: you reach for AI and automation first, and you know how to make agents reliable where the stakes are medical.
  • High‑agency: you see problems, take ownership and execute without waiting.
  • Care: you take patient safety personally; quality and compliance are part of the product, not a brake on it.
  • Content‑native (bonus): you can explain a scan or a blood test on camera, because our launches run through creators.
  • Imaging, lab or longevity experience (bonus): you have worked at an imaging, lab testing or preventive health company.
Why Join Aonic?

A Whole Business, From Zero You build a new category from the first partner contract to the first thousand scans, with your own range, partners and results.

The Front Door of Health at Aonic Diagnostics is where many members will meet Aonic first. What you build decides how millions of Americans see their own health.

Direct Founder Exposure You work side by side with the CEO, a serial founder who was a founding investor and board member of the telehealth company TeleClinic.

Savings with a Purpose A brain MRI can cost $2,000 at a hospital and a fraction of that at cost. Every dollar you take out goes straight to our members.

Elite, Small Team A tight group of highly driven operators and AI agents, no bureaucracy, decisions in hours.

Meaningful Upside Significant equity in a company built to reach 1 million members.
