Job summary

American Family Insurance Agency Staff is seeking a Catastrophe Property Field Claims Adjuster to investigate, appraise, and settle property catastrophe claims in a field/home-based role. You will travel up to 75% for CAT duty and participate in on-site inspections as needed.

You will report to the CAT Property Claims Manager and may work from home or in the field, with a company fleet vehicle provided for assigned duties.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions and service.
• Experience handling 1st and 3rd party, multi-line claims across operating territories.
• Experience handling moderately complex claims.
• Solid knowledge of casualty policy endorsements and claim processes.

Responsibilities

• Investigate origin and cause of claims by contacting insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, and others.
• Identify complex issues and seek assistance as needed; handle claims in good faith.
• Handle 1st and 3rd party claims under multiple policy types and endorsements.
• Conduct on-site inspections, evaluate damages, and negotiate settlements.
• Provide claim process updates and status to all parties; respond to inquiries.
