Job summary

FuelCell Energy is seeking a Supervisor, Catalyst Development with an advanced degree to lead catalyst design, synthesis, characterization, and testing for methane reforming and fuel cell applications. This hands-on supervisory role includes guidance of one direct report and collaboration with vendors for scale-up.

The role emphasizes experimental leadership, data analysis, safety, and staying current with literature and patents in catalysis and hydrogen technologies.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in chemistry/engineering with 2+ years of relevant research
  • Experience in heterogeneous catalyst design, synthesis, and testing
  • Hands-on characterization: XRD, TEM/SEM, XPS, BET, chemisorption

Responsibilities

  • Supervise catalyst development activities, planning and executing lab work
  • Design, synthesize, and characterize heterogeneous catalysts for methane reforming and fuel cell applications
  • Conduct activity, selectivity, and stability testing under realistic conditions
  • Develop test/qualification plans for concepts under evaluation
  • Use DOE and statistical tools to accelerate materials discovery
  • Collaborate with manufacturing for scale-up from lab to pilot production
