Job summary

The Comforted Kitty is looking for reliable, independent cat lovers to provide in-home cat sitting visits while clients are away. This is a flexible, part-time independent contractor position where you set your availability and service area, and we match you with clients.

Cat sitting visits include feeding, litter box care, play or companionship, and sending updates/photos through our app. Weekend/holiday availability is highly valued.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home cat sitting visits for clients away from home.
• Feed cats, refresh water, clean litter boxes.
• Offer playtime, affection, or companionship per cat's personality.
• Send visit updates and photos via our app.
• Follow each client’s care instructions precisely.
• Administer medications only within your experience level.
• Handle tasks like bringing in mail or adjusting home settings as requested.

This is a flexible, part-time independent contractor position where you set your availability and service area, and we match you with clients. Part-Time Cat Sitter - Durham, NC Metro Area

What You'll Do

Cat sitting visits may include:

• Feeding cats and refreshing water
• Cleaning litter boxes
• Giving playtime, affection, or companionship based on each cat's personality
• Sending visit updates and photos through our app
• Following each client's detailed care instructions
• Bringing in mail or packages
• Adjusting lights, blinds, or trash/recycling when requested
• Administering medication when within your experience and comfort level

Most visits take place while clients are traveling, so weekend, holiday, morning, afternoon, and evening availability is especially valuable.

Service Types

• Drop-ins: 30 / 45 / 60 minutes (1-3x daily)
• Extended daytime visits: 2-8 hours
• Overnights: 10-hour stays
• 24-hour care: live-in with overnight care

What We Look For

• Experienced with cat care, especially in a pet sitting capacity
• Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
• Strong written communication
• Comfortable working independently in clients' homes

• Medication experience (oral, injections, fluids)

Pay & Perks

• Sitters are paid per visit, with rates typically starting around $20 per 30 minute visit, with higher pay for longer visits, overnight care, house sitting
