K.A. Recruiting, Inc. is seeking a CT Technologist for the Greater Lansing, Michigan area.

This full-time position includes full benefits and career growth opportunities. Shift pattern is 1 week on / 1 week off with 10-hour days totaling 70 hours per pay period, during the afternoon shift. Requirements include ARRT certification in CT and a minimum of 2 years of immediate CT experience in an ER environment.

Qualifications

• ARRTCT certification is required for CT technologist.
• Minimum of 2 years CT experience in an ER setting is required.
• Experience working full-time in fast-paced radiology environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality radiographic images with proper positioning and technical factors.
• Operate CT scanner, power injector, and post-processing equipment.
• Adjust protocols to meet patient needs and ensure high diagnostic quality.
• Perform general radiography exams as needed.
• Maintain repeat rates at or below national standards.
• Coordinate with front desk and file room procedures and patient flow.
• Explain procedures to patients and obtain relevant patient history.
• Assist radiologist during invasive procedures when needed.
• Position patients accurately and ensure age-appropriate guidelines.
• Communicate delays to patients and educate them about procedures.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Produces high qualityradiographicimages through appropriate positioning and technical factors. Operates CT scanner, power injector and post processing equipment. Adjusts protocols to meet patient needs when necessary. Critiques completed procedures for high diagnostic quality.
2. Performs general radiography exams as needed.
3. Adjusts protocols to meet patient needs when necessary.
4. Critiques completed procedures for high diagnostic quality.
5. Maintains a repeat rate at or below the national standard.
6. Familiarity with terminology and the procedures performed in all of Diagnostic Imaging. Demonstrates a working knowledge of all front desk and file room procedures.
7. Communicates delays to patients. Explains procedures so that patients are comfortable. Obtains thorough and pertinent patient history and prepares patients for examination.
8. Encourages and assist in research at the technologist level. Keeps abreast of new procedures and exams as it pertains to area of diagnostic imaging practice.
9. Selects the appropriate equipment and is aware of the set up based on procedure protocol, specifications, and standards.
10. Evaluates the technical quality of images and is able to record, archive, retrieve, compile, and calculate data.
11. Independently capable of assisting the radiologist during invasive procedures such as biopsies and abscessdrainages.
12. Positions the patient based on anatomy in question and provides accurate measurements, educates and can clearly explain procedures before imaging, and follows age-specific guidelines.
13. Practices positive patient identification.
14. Acquires complete and appropriate patient history and conveys all pertinent information to radiologist. Confers with radiologist regarding patient care and protocol as necessary.
