Job summary

New England Cat Care, a cat-exclusive veterinary practice in Woodbridge, CT, is seeking a Veterinary Technician or Vet Assistant to join our feline-focused team. This full-time, in-person role offers a Monday–Friday schedule (8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.) with no weekends or evenings, and aims for meticulous patient care in a low-stress environment.

You will assist two veterinarians with internal medicine, perform phlebotomy, radiography and lab work, educate clients, and maintain accurate medical

Qualifications

• At least three years of veterinary experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfort speaking with clients about medical care and treatment plans.
• Understand the importance of building trust between clients and veterinary staff.
• Be organized, detail-oriented, reliable, and accountable.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with feline examinations, procedures and treatments.
• Manage appointment flow for two doctors.
• Perform phlebotomy and assist with sample collection.
• Perform or assist with cystocentesis.
• Obtain and process laboratory samples.
• Perform digital radiography.
• Monitor patients and assist with treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
• Communicate laboratory results and treatment recommendations to clients.
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records.
• Assist clients in understanding treatment plans and follow-up care.
