First Chicago Insurance Company seeks an experienced Casualty Claims Specialist to review and determine course of action on each file, conduct investigations, and document policy status, coverage, liability and damages. You will process Bodily Injury and coverage claims in line with established procedures.

Key duties include researching case law for proper investigations, collaborating with third parties and counsel, and presenting claim evaluations for settlement authority while keeping

Qualifications

• 3-5 years in Casualty claims experience required.
• Knowledge of legal and medical terminology.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, written, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to pass state statute examinations to become a licensed claims adjuster.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Review and determine course of action on each file to support final disposition of a loss.
• Conduct thorough investigations and document file activity including coverage, liability, and damages.
• Process Bodily Injury and coverage claims per office procedures.
• Collaborate with Third Parties, counsel, Claim Director and COO to determine necessary investigation.
• Research case law to conduct proper claim investigation.
• Document policy status, coverage, liability and damages; notify re-insurer on qualifying claims.
• Prepare and present claim evaluations for settlement authority.
• Maintain reasonable expense factors.
