Job summary

Labcorp in Norfolk, VA is seeking a phlebotomist float to join our team. This per diem/casual position offers hours up to 19 per week, with travel to multiple sites as needed.

You will perform venipuncture and capillary collections, enter patient data, and prepare specimens for testing while providing excellent patient service across age groups.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; phlebotomy certification or training or 6 months’ experience as phlebotomist.
• Preferred: 1 year or more phlebotomy experience.

Labcorp is seeking a phlebotomist float to join our team in Norfolk, VA.

Work Schedule: Per Diem/Casual position and hours will be as needed based upon business needs, not to exceed 19 hours per week

Job Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments when required
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed
• Other Duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Phlebotomy certification or completed Phlebotomy training program or 6 months’ or more experience as a phlebotomist

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year or more of phlebotomy experience

Additional Job Standards

• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program from an accredited agency
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Have a Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record with reliable transportation
• Be at least 21 years of age

PST’s may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics

Float Incentive: Additional $1.00/hr plus mileage reimbursement

Pay Range: $17.75-$27.69

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.

Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
