UPMC Rx Partners is seeking a casual Pharmacist to join a dedicated team. The pharmacist will support centralized and decentralized medication-use systems, educate staff and students, and participate in quality initiatives to improve medication-use processes.

The role involves supervising technicians and ensuring regulatory compliance in daily operations. Qualifications include ACPE-accredited pharmacy education, a PharmD or BS in Pharmacy, and current licensure in the practicing state.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy.
• B.S in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
• Current licensure as a Pharmacist in practicing state.

Responsabilités

• Interpret and evaluate physician orders and prescriptions to prepare, calculate, and dispense appropriate medication dosage forms for inpatient and outpatient treatment in accordance with state and federal laws.
• Identify and report suspected adverse drug reactions accurately and in a timely manner.
• Sustain the formulary by minimizing non-formulary procurements and promoting rational drug therapy selection.
• Review, maintain, and screen patient medication records for allergies, drug interactions and duplications while entering orders and/or verifying medications.
• Organize daily operational duties and assist in supervising pharmacy staff and students involved in pharmaceutical care.
• Adhere to regulatory requirements and hospital quality management policies in providing pharmaceutical care.
• Communicate with physicians and nurses to clarify orders that are unclear or incomplete.
• Provide drug information and educational programs to healthcare professionals and students.
• Utilize all available computer systems and technologies in the provision of pharmaceutical care.
• Fill prescription orders in accordance with regulations, utilizing available resources.
• Prepare and dispense intravenous admixture solutions using aseptic technique in an approved sterile area.
