Job summary

BHB is seeking qualified pharmacy professionals to support inpatient and outpatient medication services in a dynamic hospital setting. The role involves processing orders, ensuring IV room standards, and collaborating with clinical staff to optimize patient care.

Candidates should hold a pharmacy degree with clinical certification, have post-graduate hospital experience, and be registered with the Bermuda Pharmacy Council. The position includes weekend/holiday rotations and on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy degree from accredited institute with clinical certification (MClin, PharmD).
• Minimum of one year's post-graduate experience, preferably in a hospital setting.
• Current Bermuda Pharmacy Council registration.

Responsibilities

• Process inpatient/outpatient and LOA medication orders following established policies and procedures.
• Adhere to IV Room policies and procedures; prepare and check IV requirements for inpatient and outpatient needs.
• Provide liaison services to designated areas; participate in rounds and consult as required.
• Rotate duties and perform technical functions as needed.
• Provide coverage for other BHB Pharmacies as needed.
• Assist in orientation of new staff.
• Supervise Pharmacy Technicians.

Key responsibilities

• Processes inpatient/outpatient and LOA medication orders following established policies and procedures. Consults with medical staff/nursing as needed
• Adheres to all IV Room policies and procedures (e.g. storage, dispensing, cleaning schedule). Prepares and checks all IV requirements for inpatient and outpatient needs
• Provides liaison services to designated areas as directed by the Clinical Pharmacist Coordinator. Performs profile checks and medication area inspections. Participates in multidisciplinary rounds and consults as required
• Participates in departmental rotation of duties and responsibilities. Performs technical functions as the need arises
• Provides coverage for other BHB Pharmacies as needed
• Assists in the orientation of new staff
• Supervises Pharmacy Technicians

Qualifications &/ Registration required:

• Graduate Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institute, with clinical certification (MClin, PharmD)
• Minimum of one year's post-graduate experience, preferably in a hospital setting
• Current registration with the Bermuda Pharmacy Council
• Pyxis knowledge advantageous
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite of applications

Work Type: Casual

Schedule: Shift rotation to include weekends and public holidays and on call rota. Hours and location of work may change to meet the changing demands on the pharmacy services required.

Salary Scale: SPH $62.5401 per hour
