Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• 1 year of customer-oriented business experience preferred.
• Some knowledge of FedEx Canada operations and Canadian Customs regulations is an asset.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and handle packages up to 150 lbs with equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous and efficient pick-up and delivery of packages on an assigned route; check shipments for conformance to FedEx Canada service features and provide related customer service.
• Deliver and pick up safely while presenting a professional image and maintaining neat appearance.
• Conduct accurate selection and inspection of packages and report stop counts and missorts.
• Adhere to courier procedures, load van and plan routes for efficiency; ensure security of company and customer property.
• Seek additional business from current customers; inform sales of leads and market changes.
• Ensure labeling and paperwork are neat and accurate; ensure customers have supplies of FedEx shipping materials.
• Operate computerized tracking and dispatch systems with correct information.
• Answer customer questions on FedEx Canada features and keep customers informed about Canada, US and International requirements.
• Demonstrate proficiency in service features and equipment.
• Operate vehicle safely and in compliance with regulations.
• May perform aircraft/container loading/unloading and sorting/scanning as workload dictates.

Job Responsibilities

• To provide courteous and efficient pick-up and delivery of packages on an assigned route; to check all shipments for conformance to Federal Express Canada features of service; to provide related customer service functions
• Provides efficient and safe delivery and pick-up of packages while representing the company in a professional manner and maintains a neat and clean appearance consistent with the company's public image
• Accomplishes accurate and timely selection and inspection of assigned packages and the subsequent reporting of stop counts and missorts
• Adheres to Courier Best Practices, operating procedures, loads van and plans route for efficient delivery and pick-up of packages and ensures proper security of Federal Express and customer property, such as packages, equipment and vehicles.
• Seeks additional business from current customers. Informs sales department of sales leads and market change
• Ensures that packages conform to Federal Express Canada features of service, that proper labelling is provided, and that all paperwork is neat, accurate and ensures customers have adequate supply of Federal Express shipping materials
• Operates computerized tracking and dispatch systems ensuring input of correct information
• Answers customer's questions on Federal Express Canada's features of service and keeps customers informed about the company and its services as well as Canada, US and International requirements.
• Demonstrates proficiency in features of service and equipment.
• Operates vehicle safely and efficiently, complying with all government regulations and company procedures.
• May perform aircraft and/or container loading/unloading and sorting and scanning of packages, as location and workload dictate.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

• High school diploma/educational equivalent
• Must possess a valid driver's license and have a good driving record
• One (1) year customer oriented business experience preferred
• Some knowledge of Federal Express Canada operations and Canadian Customs regulations an asset
• Ability to lift 70 lbs and to maneuver any package weighing up to 150 lbs with appropriate equipment

Preferred Qualifications

• Shift: Monday to Friday: 8:45 am to 5:15 pm. Our Flex Driver role permits you to select shifts up to 8 hours in length, over a 5-day period, up to a maximum of 40 hours per week.
• Must Have a Full Valid Class G License. G2 NOT ACCEPTABLE.
