Job summary

Astemo Rock Spring, Inc. in Rock Spring, GA is seeking a Transfer Pot Driver in the Casting department. The role reports to the Casting Production Technician / Casting Supervisor and offers hands-on training in operating and maintaining the casting melt process and equipment.

You will support Leads and Supervisors, monitor quality, assist in setup and changeovers, follow safety guidelines, and contribute to process improvements while maintaining a clean, safe work area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of casting processes is advantageous.
• Relevant coursework or certifications in casting or related field.
• Ability to follow instructions, work in a fast-paced environment, and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Assist Leads & Supervisors in operating/maintaining casting melt process / equipment and following established procedures, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
• Learn to monitor the casting process, inspect for quality, and detect any defects or variations, reporting any concerns to the Leads & Supervisors.
• Support routine maintenance activities on the transfer pot / equipment, such as cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs, to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with the Leads & Supervisors to troubleshoot transfer pot / equipment issues and implement basic corrective actions, escalating more complex issues as necessary.
• Assist in the setup and changeover of transfer pots or equipment, working under the guidance of the Leads, Supervisors & support teams.
• Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area, prioritizing safety always.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by providing suggestions for process enhancement, drawing upon your growing knowledge and insights.
• Participate in training sessions provided to enhance technical skills and expand knowledge in the casting field.
