Job summary

Howmet Aerospace is seeking a Casting Technician for the Whitehall, MI casting operation. The role requires operating vacuum melting equipment, maintaining logs, following precise work instructions, and performing routine maintenance.

Off-shift positions (2nd, 3rd, and weekend crew) are available; prior casting experience is a plus. Must be legally eligible to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of work experience, or six months in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Operate vacuum melting equipment and perform routine maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed.
• Maintain accurate, detailed logs and follow controlled instructions.
• Prepare furnace for shift changes and ensure clean work area.
• Comply with all EHS rules and conduct housekeeping tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Maintain accurate and detailed logs.
• Work to detailed and controlled work instructions.
• Executes minor maintenance.
• Repairs and replaces furnace components.
• Checks and maintains furnace fluid levels.
• Prepares and sets up furnace for following shift.
• Performs housekeeping activities to keep machines and work area clean.
• Sweeps and mops work area.
• Scrapes and cleans mold and melt chambers of furnaces.
• Complies with all EHS rules required for the work environment.
• Performs other work-related duties, as assigned.

Responsibilities

This off-shift CASTING TECHNICIAN position will be located in our Plant 10, Whitehall Casting Operation. Primary responsibilities will include:

• Operate vacuum melting equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment as necessary.
• Maintain accurate and detailed logs.
• Work to detailed and controlled work instructions.
• Executes minor maintenance.

• Checks and maintains furnace fluid levels.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of two years of work experience, or six months continuous manufacturing experience.
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Previous casting experience a plus.
