Job summary

Trojan Battery Company is seeking a Casting Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. You will load raw materials, operate the casting and related equipment, and perform quality checks to ensure product integrity.

The role requires strict adherence to safety standards, teamwork, and reliability in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include setting up machinery, maintaining Lean housekeeping practices, and timely data entry of quality metrics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or higher.
• Ability to use hand tools.
• Ability to stand at work for extended periods.
• Basic math skills.
• Willingness to work overtime and variable hours.
• Team player with a safety mindset.
• Manufacturing/production experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Load raw materials into machines.
• Operate cork spraying machine, Dross ladle and pot when needed.
• Perform visual inspections for quality and quantity; adjust as directed.
• Assist team members in maximizing production.
• Complete hourly CTQ data entry and maintain records.
• Follow Work Instructions and Lean activities (5S, housekeeping).
• Be at work station on time and stay until instructed to leave by Lead or Supervisor.

Your Day-to-Day task in the Casting Machine Operator Department will be the following:

• Comply with all safety requirements and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Understand and practice the Quality policy
• Loads raw materials into machines
• Manually on and off bears materials from/to machines
• Operates cork spraying machine Dross ladle and pot when needed
• Performs visual inspections for quality and quantity, makes minor adjustments to correct problems under supervision.
• Assist team members in maximizing production
• Be familiar with all grid types, proper alignment on pallets and proper stacks
• Must also be sure to use only non-defective pallets or slip sheets
• Generally, meets minimum grid production requirements.
• Complete hourly CTQ data collector entry
• Identifies a variety of grid types
• Understand and follow Work Instructions
• Be at work station on time
• Leave work station on time, unless otherwise instructed by the Team Lead or Supervisor
• Follow and maintain Lean activities (5S, Housekeeping, etc.)
• Assist with mold and trim die changes
• Ability to work variable and flexible hours including overtime
• Ability to be detail oriented, and sense of urgency
• Other duties as assigned
