Job summary

Astemo Rock Spring, INC. is seeking a Furnace Operator in the Casting Department to support melting processes and maintain furnace equipment.

This full-time role reports to the Shift Lead or Supervisor and requires careful adherence to procedures and safety guidelines. Responsibilities include operating casting melt processes, inspecting quality, performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and documenting work progress.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic understanding of casting processes advantageous.
• Ability to follow instructions, work in a fast-paced environment, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain casting melt processes and equipment following established procedures.
• Monitor the casting process, inspect for quality issues, and report concerns.
• Assist with routine furnace maintenance: cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs.
• Troubleshoot furnace or equipment issues and perform basic corrective actions.
• Support setup and changeover of furnace and equipment under supervision.
• Follow safety guidelines, maintain a clean and organized work area, and use personal protective equipment.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives with suggestions for process enhancement.
• Participate in training sessions to expand technical skills.
• Complete required documentation and safety checks before operations.
• Provide regular updates on work progress and collaborate on data analysis for reporting.
