Job summary

Kobe Aluminum Automotive Products Llc is seeking a Casting Foreman for the night shift to supervise the casting department, monitor equipment, and enforce safety and quality standards on the plant floor. You will coordinate with supervision, manage schedules, and ensure proper PPE usage.

Ideal candidates will have 3+ years of leadership in automotive settings, experience with CNC machinery or similar environments, and familiarity with QAD for data entry and reporting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Crane and forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor equipment operating within specified parameters and ensure production targets are met.
• Lead machining associates and coordinate shift activities.
• Ensure all personnel wear PPE and follow KAAP safety rules.
• Communicate schedule requirements and production targets to the team.
• Oversee changeovers, inventory control, and data entry in QAD.
• Promote 5S and maintain quality checks on time.

Job description

Job Title: Casting Foreman

Classification: Non-Exempt

Department: Casting

Reports to: Supervisor
Position: Night Shift

Position Summary:

Monitors activity on the production floor, including strict adherence to safety standards, verifying standard work procedures, quality standards, and facilitating training among employees. Oversee the production schedule and reports to supervision the status of changeovers, equipment availability, and personnel issues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure equipment is operating within specified parameters.
• Manage Machining associates.
• Ensure all team members have proper PPE in good condition.
• Communicate schedule requirements and production targets.
• Prioritize jobs/tasks based on requirements from Supervisor.
• Observe Machining changeover tasks for accuracy and correctness.
• Promote safe work procedures in accordance with KAAP safety rules and regulations.
• Ensure quality checks are being performed on time and correctly.
• Enter data in QAD.
• Inventory control.
• Promote and implement assigned 5S activities throughout the Machining department.
• Monitor cycle times.
• Communicate any issues to Supervisor.
• Performs other duties as required.

Education & Experience:

• Previous experience with CNC machinery or similar environment

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• Requires constant physical activity throughout shift such as walking, sitting, standing, bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, handling, near/far vision, pushing, pulling, carrying, and lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Flexible work schedule as needed with adequate notification.
• Always maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing personal protective equipment.
• Willing to work in hot/humid, cold, noisy industrial environment
