Job summary

Alltex Staffing & Personnel in East Houston seeks a Casting Associate with prior casting shop experience, including pumping melted product into molds. The role requires working in a hot environment, physical stamina, and adherence to safety protocols.

You will remove parts from molds, trim flashing, and perform quality checks, while operating a pour pump and a forklift. Shift options include 1st shift (4 am–2 pm, Mon–Thu) or 2nd shift (3 pm–finish, Mon–Fri), depending on production needs.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write in English to understand safety instructions.
• Take direction from supervisors and respond to basic questions.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of concepts, procedures, and policies.
• Work collaboratively in small teams to improve operations.
• Operate complex machinery and tools in varied situations.
• Familiarity with rosebud/oxy fuel torch is a plus.
• Must have a clean background for 5 years.

Casting Associate

Ideal candidate will have previous work experience in a casting shop using a pump to pour melted product into a mold or similar.
HOT environment: similar to a foundry, where the shop is typically hotter than ambient temperatures.

Responsibilities / Responsibilities:

• Remove parts from molds, trimming flashing off the parts to meet quality checks.
• Stack Parts onto pallets.
• Trim flashing off the parts to meet quality checks. Perform visual quality checks as instructed.
• Use a pump to pour melted lead into a mold.

Meet production goals and quality standards.

• Drive a forklift.
• Move 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 50 pounds of force continually.
• Physically active in all elements of the job.
  Wear company-provided full head gear respirator system: Full-Head gear, long-sleeve uniform, earbuds, gloves. Enforce and comply with all environmental, health, and safety requirements.

Qualifications / Requirements:

• Must be able to withstand the heat and work in a hot environment.
• Must be able frequently lift heavy materials.
• Clean shaven (no facial hair)
• Must be able to work in a noisy shop setting; A respirator, gloves, and earplugs are required.

East Houston

Shift: 1st - 4 am to 2 pm (10-hour shifts) Monday to Thursday or 4 am to 12 noon if 2nd shift 3PM -finish - Monday to Friday; based on production scheduled needs.
