  • Responsible for supervising and managing staff in the Facilities department who conduct general maintenance, installation, maintenance and repair of HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems.
  • Develops, implements and manages operational goals and monitors achievements of performance and profit objectives.
  • Create effective and efficient schedules, while maintaining labor costs, meeting staffing objectives and achieving guest satisfaction.
  • Responsible for assisting in the budget process for the department and provide recommendations; ensuring compliance to departmental budget initiatives; reporting budget concerns to manager.
  • Makes recommendations or final decisions on various maintenance and construction projects and determines best practice for using in-house resources.
  • Inspects projects after completion for satisfactory results.
  • Ensures OSHA standards are followed within the department.
  • Schedules repair, maintenance and installation of machines, tools and equipment to ensure continuous operations.
  • Manages grounds crew and maintenance of property grounds
  • Manages landscaping activities as required.
  • Conducts a daily inspection of the property to ensure that it is clean, attractive and fully functional. implements immediate remediation of problems.
  • Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs.
  • Ensures customer service standards are followed by all team members and addresses issues as they arise.
  • Responsible for the overall achievement of department customer service goals.
  • Responsible for ensuring the compliance with all regulatory compliance within area of responsibility and reporting potential issues to Executive Management / GM.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters

Qualification Requirements
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four‑year college or university; two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior leadership experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, and Carpentry trades; knowledge of generators, fire pumps, and electrical switchgears (trade license preferred).
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; compute rates, ratios, and percentages; draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Previous experience with all aspects of maintenance and engineering (especially electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, and equipment maintenance).
  • Strong ability to interact with guests, staff, and colleagues and resolve conflicts diplomatically and tactfully.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Oversee staff development and training programs.
  • Manage rewards and recognition programs to maximize engagement.
  • Evaluate team member performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Make recommendations for staffing, including interviewing and hiring.
  • Plan, assign, and direct work schedules to meet business needs.
  • Determine work procedures and expedite workflow.
  • Manage employee performance, including disciplining, coaching, and counseling.
Language Skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents in English (safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, procedure manuals).
  • Ability to read and communicate verbally in English.
  • Written communication skills in English may also be required.
Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Must qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by Penn National Gaming’s auto insurance carrier.
Physical Demands
  • Regularly required to stand and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Frequently required to reach with hands/arms and to talk or hear.
  • Vision requirements include close, color, and peripheral vision.
  • Must regularly lift/move up to 10 lbs, frequently up to 25 lbs, and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, crouch, kneel, stack, and balance while working in varying environments, including confined spaces.
Work Environment
  • Noise level is usually moderate to loud.
  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts.
  • Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, and electrical shock risk.
  • Possible exposure to unrestricted second‑hand tobacco smoke.
