Job summary

Save-A-Lot, Ltd. is seeking a store clerk to report to the store manager and assist with cashiering, stocking and cleaning while maintaining excellent daily store conditions.

This role focuses on delivering friendly customer service, accurate cash handling, and proper product rotation in a fast-paced grocery environment. You must be 18+ with English proficiency and be flexible to cover varied shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Proven, efficient retail sales experience; experience in dry grocery, perishable, meat, general grocery, cash management and excellent customer service preferred.
• Excellent teamwork and problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to read, write and speak in English.
• Demonstrate effective oral and written communication, interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in basic math skills required, including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, and basic computer skills
• Must be dependable and flexible to work scheduled shifts, including a willingness to work in other areas of the store as needed with little or no advance notice
• Must adhere to safety standards
• Must adhere to a uniform dress code

Responsibilities

• Operates a cash register efficiently and performs checkout procedures.
• Follows all check-out and cash handling procedures and policies.
• Maintains stock of grocery, dairy, perishables and displays according to guidelines.
• Assists with unloading delivery trucks.
• Cleans assigned areas and maintains store conditions.
• Provides friendly customer service and assists in-store training.
• Maintains proper product rotation and price tags.
• Ensures safety and cleanliness in work areas.
• Displays, trims and fills produce as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
