Department: Park Services – Zoo Part-Time: Hourly - Non-exempt

As the first point of contact for guests, you’ll provide exceptional customer service while handling admissions and gift shop transactions in a fast-paced, fun setting. What You’ll Do:

• Collect admissions fees and issue receipts with accuracy and a friendly attitude
• Balance cash drawer at the end of your shift and complete necessary forms
• Greet guests warmly, answer questions, and provide helpful information
• Keep your workstation clean and organized throughout the day
• Restock gift shop merchandise, keeping displays tidy and appealing
• Assist with maintenance tasks like leaf blowing, feeding machine care, and sanitizing stations
• Follow all safety procedures and report unsafe conditions to your supervisor
• Support fellow team members and complete additional duties as assigned
• Represent the Park District professionally and uphold its mission and values

What You Bring:

• Must be 16 years or older (work permit required if under 16)
• Strong communication, customer service, and listening skills
• Prior cash handling experience preferred but not required
• Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite experience a plus)
• Ability to learn business software and point-of-sale systems
• Physically able to stand, walk, and perform light cleaning and stocking tasks
• Attention to detail and the ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations
• Team player with a positive, professional attitude
