Job summary

Vibrant Works at Goodfellow Base Supply Center, Goodfellow AFB, TX, seeks a part-time Cashier to support point-of-sale operations and deliver high-quality customer service.

You will operate the POS system, process payments, stock shelves, and maintain a clean, safe store environment in a nonprofit setting; prior cashier experience and ability to work with minimal supervision are a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience as a cashier preferred.
• Nonprofit experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

# Cashier PTGoodFellow Base Supply Center - Goodfellow AFB, TX 76908## Description**Reports to**: BSC Assistant Manager/Manager**Department:** Base Service Centers**Classification:** Non-Exempt**Travel:** none**JOB SUMMARY:**The Cashier serves as the team member for all functions of point of sales transactions. Working closely with all store personnel, they provide high quality customer service.**JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**· Greets, directs and assists customers.· Operates the Counterpoint point of sales system· Processes transactions in the point of sales system· Receives and processes payment from customers – credit card and customer account sales· Processes customer orders, backorders, drop shipments and researches customer orders· Assists customers with unique and hard-to-find items· Ensures cleanliness of store; sweeps and cleans the sales counter and surrounding area as needed· Assists in stocking of shelves and items· Completes special projects as needed· Works with store management to create a safe, clean, and healthy work environment· Other duties as assigned## Qualifications**EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:**· High School diploma or equivalent required· Experience as a cashier· Nonprofit experience a plus**SKILLS/ABILITIES:**· Customer Service Skills required· Basic math skills· Ability to stock shelves· Ability to read credit card numbers (if needed with the aid of a magnifier, or CCTV)· Basic computer and key boarding skills· Ability to visually locate and scan bar codes· Must be regular and good in attendance· Must be able to work with minimal supervision· Must be a team player**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:**· Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.· Must be able to stand for long periods of time· Must be able to move around the floor without assistanceThis job description does not imply these are the only duties to be performed.
