Job summary

SP+ is hiring cashiers to support the Portland Airport, handling payments and customer service in a fast-paced booth environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in cash handling and customer service preferred.
• Punctuality and reliability required.
• Ability to operate a cash register and provide receipts.

Responsibilities

• Be at work every scheduled day on time and in uniform.
• Count starting bank of revenue at shift start.
• Collect cash and validations and maintain cash security.
• Issue receipts or tickets for each transaction and compute totals.
• Operate cash register to process transactions and display costs.
• Quote prices for services and guide customers to locations.
• Fill lost ticket forms and resolve complaints with supervisor as needed.
• Answer calls promptly and courteously.
• Maintain cleanliness of booth and surrounding area.
• Check inventory of work supplies in the booth.
• Verify shift transactions against the bank of revenue.
• Record transactions and vehicle counts in shift reports.

Job description

Cashiers are needed at the Portland Airport! SP+ is a parking company that prides itself in excellent customer service. We handle all the parking at the airport and we need cashiers to help process the payments for those using our services.

Union employment available.

Medical plan options for single coverage. 401(k) matching. Part‑time and full‑time schedules. PTO vacation and sick days separate with personal days and perfect attendance bonuses.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Responsible for being at work every scheduled day, on time, and in uniform.
• Counts "bank" of revenue at the beginning of shift to ensure starting total is correct.
• Collects cash and/or validations and maintains security of cash.
• Makes changes and issues receipts or tickets to customers for each transaction.
• Computes or recomputes bill from ticket showing amount due per customer.
• Operates cash register after time calculation (manually or by machine), calculates cost or transaction, and displays cost of customer transaction on the cash register.
• Quotes prices for parking services for which money is received upon customer receipt.
• Gives directions to customers to various locations in the city.
• Completes lost ticket forms when original tickets cannot be located.
• Resolves customer complaints independently or with the aid of a supervisor.
• Answers telephone in a prompt and courteous manner.
• Maintains cleanliness of booth and picks up trash in the surrounding area.
• Conducts timely checks to see if a proper inventory of necessary work aids and supplies is located in the booth.
• Verifies log of shift transactions against bank of "revenue" on hand.
• Compiles "bank" of collected revenue during the day once a predetermined amount of money has been collected.
• Records amounts received, cars in/out of the facility, and cars left in a facility (if applicable) while preparing shift reports of transactions.
