Job summary

Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona is seeking a team member to lead a strong customer and brand experience and promote sales. You will run registers, assist customers, and help maintain store standards in Flagstaff, AZ.

The role emphasizes cash handling, customer service, and teamwork within a store environment. You will participate in background checks where applicable and support a welcoming atmosphere for shoppers.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills required.
• Strong math skills preferred.
• Must communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Able to maintain attendance and punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Performs Point of Sale (POS) responsibilities and processes all forms of payments.
• Asks each customer for cash donations at POS.
• Establishes or identifies prices of goods via merchandise markings or assistance from on-site leadership.
• Completes closing procedures as necessary.
• Maintains regular and consistent in-person attendance.
• Greets customers and thanks them as they leave the store.
• Maintains sales floor by following floor standards.
• Stocks merchandise in assigned areas.
• Uses phones and paging systems for announcements.
• Maintains a clean and safe store environment.

Starting Pay :$18.35 Hourly

Position Description: Works as a member of the store team to lead an excellent customer and brand experience, and promote sales for Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona (GCNA) and its affiliated entities. Responsible for running registers as well as working to maintain sales floor standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs Point of Sale (POS) responsibilities and processes all forms of payments.
• Asks each customer for cash donations at POS.
• Establishes or identifies prices of goods via the type of merchandise, identifying markings, or asking for help from an on-site leader.
• Completes closing procedures, as necessary.
• Maintains regular and consistent in-person attendance.
• Greets customers that enter in the store and thanks customers leaving the establishment.
• Maintains sales floor by following floorwork and PPM (picture process map) standards.
• Stocks merchandise in appropriate area as assigned.
• Utilizes systems, including phones and paging systems to make regularly scheduled announcements.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment.
• Maintains regular and consistent in-person attendance.
• Models Goodwill Core Values – Trust, Collaboration, Engagement, Ownership, and Innovation.
• Performs other related duties, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)

• High School education or equivalent experience
• Excellent customer service skills
• Excellent math skills preferred
• Ability to communicate and understand instructions, both verbal and written, in English
• Must be at least 16 years of age or older
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, where applicable for position
• Ability to speak and read English proficiently
