Job summary

Brookshire Grocery Company is seeking a detail-oriented office/retail associate to support store finance, cashiering, and customer service. You will handle money transactions, deposits, and daily reconciliation while assisting cashiers and customers with pricing and product information.

Responsibilities include processing money orders, refunds, and Western Union requests; maintaining accurate records; and staying current on tender policies. A safety-conscious, team-oriented approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience handling cash, making change, and processing transactions accurately.
• Ability to comply with money-handling and tender policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of governing rules for tobacco, alcohol, lottery and related items.

Responsibilities

• Process requests for Western Union, money orders, lottery tickets, coin redemptions, refunds and equipment rental.
• Prepare cash and check deposits and maintain accurate store financial records and bank deposit logs.
• Check cash register drawers for overages and shortages and report discrepancies to management.
• Perform store office tasks such as ordering supplies, assisting cashiers and answering calls.
• Stay current on tender policies for checks, credit, debit, coupons, EBT, WIC, AML, etc.
• Know product codes and stay familiar with ads and special items.
• Maintain accurate drawer money counts and close out drawer.
• Balance cash drawers and safe funds.
• Adhere to laws regarding sales of restricted items such as tobacco, alcohol and cannabis-based products.
• Provide friendly, customer-service oriented interactions and respond to complaints.
• Maintain a clean, safe, sanitary work and shopping environment per company procedures.
