Job summary

Meijer in Indiana is hiring part-time Cashiers to deliver friendly, efficient service at the checkout. You’ll be the last touchpoint for customers, helping create a positive shopping experience and lasting impressions.

The role offers weekly pay, flexible scheduling, and opportunities for tuition reimbursement and advancement through Meijer’s development programs. Previous retail or customer service helps, but is not required, and you’ll be supported by a team that values community.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Great service orientation and friendly demeanour.
• Comfortable learning and using technology.

• Previous retail or customer service experience is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Be the last touchpoint for customers in the checkout lane and create a positive impression.
• Know Meijer programs and promotions to assist customers.
• Complete transactions accurately and efficiently using Meijer systems.
• Handle cash and payments responsibly with attention to detail.
• Communicate clearly with customers using friendly eye contact and body language.
• Resolve customer questions and concerns with care and build customer trust.

As a Cashier, you are the last touchpoint a customer has before leaving our store.

You'll:

• Become knowledgeable on Meijer programs and promotions to best assist customers
• Create welcoming, memorable checkout experiences that leave a lasting impression
• Use Meijer systems to complete transactions efficiently and accurately
• Handle cash and payments responsibly, with attention to detail
• Communicate clearly and confidently, using friendly eye contact and positive body language
• Answer customer questions and help resolve concerns with care
