Job summary

Costco is seeking a Warehouse Associate to pack member orders, assist cashiers, and keep the front end stocked and organized. You will greet members, process orders, and help load items while following safety procedures.

This role involves cart retrieval, unloading, routine cleaning, and supporting other departments as needed. Open availability and the ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment are required. Prior customer service experience is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Greets members, helps members load order onto conveyor belt, determines member packing preferences, answers questions, relates information on special promotions, thanks members, assists cashier by counting items left in cart, checking under items and positioning them for scanning.
• Packs member orders into boxes and loads to a separate cart or flatbed. Checks packaging for tampering. Follows all safety and security procedures. Follows proper departmental procedures for performance of duties. Assists members loading orders into the car when appropriate.
• Runs for items such as merchandise, boxes, register supplies, and item numbers as requested by cashiers to keep lines moving smoothly.
• Maintains cleanliness of register area and general front end area. Cleans spills and trip hazards immediately.
• Retrieves carts and flatbeds from the parking area using a rope with clasping hook, pushing no more than 10 carts together. Keeps the lot area free of debris and sweeps in front of the building.
• Performs set up and closing duties for the department, such as returning products, collecting paperwork, stocking registers, and cleaning area.
• Ensures proper cleanup and disposal of hazardous materials
• Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery.
• Assists with department duties as necessary.
• Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary.
