Job summary

Fleet Farm is seeking a friendly cashier to provide fast, accurate check-out service to customers at our store. You will operate the cash register and scanner, handle payments, and bag merchandise while maintaining brand standards.

The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma or GED, can work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays, and enjoys engaging with customers to deliver a positive shopping experience.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle cash and provide accurate change.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to operate a cash register and POS system efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Provide customers with quick and efficient check-out experience, including operating the cash register and scanner to itemize and total customer’s purchase and bag merchandise.
• Engage customers in a friendly manner, including greeting with a smile and creating a pleasant interaction throughout the entire transaction.
• Process and handle monetary transactions including cash, check, gift card, credit/debit card, etc.
• Maintain brand standards at the front end area and sales floor.
• Promote Fleet Farm loyalty program and other company initiatives.
• Follow policies to reduce shrink.

Cashiers will provide a friendly and efficient check-out experience for our customers. The position processes check-out transactions and follows all policies and procedures to reduce shrink.

Job duties:

• Provide customers with a quick and efficient check-out experience, including operating the cash register and scanner to itemize and total customer’s purchase and bag merchandise.
• Engage customers in a friendly manner, including greeting with a smile and creating a pleasant interaction throughout the entire transaction.
• Cashiers are outgoing and engaging. Must love working with people.
• Process and handle monetary transactions including cash, check, gift card, credit/debit card, etc.
• Extend offers for the Extended Protection Policy for qualifying items.
• Maintain brand standards at the front end area and sales floor.
• Positive promotion of Fleet Farm customer loyalty program, credit card, and other company initiatives.

Job Requirements and Education:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays is required.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures, including simple math.
