Job summary

Buc-ee's, Ltd. in Richmond, VA is seeking a Cashier to provide fast, friendly, and accurate checkout services. You will handle beer purchases in compliance with state laws, balance cash drawers, and process exchanges while keeping the checkout area clean and stocked.

The role requires basic math, strong listening skills, and proficiency with POS systems. Prior cashier experience is preferred, with the ability to work weekends and holidays in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand and walk on a hard surface and lift up to 40-50 pounds

Responsibilities

• Provide fast, friendly, and accurate checkout services
• Transact items at the POS and accept all approved payment methods
• Balance cash drawer at start and end of shift
• Process exchanges and refunds per company policy
• Settle shift Pay Point reports
• Maintain a clean and tidy checkout area
• Assist in stocking, rotating merchandise and labeling
• Handle beer purchases in compliance with state laws
• Train new cashiers and support team on checkout procedures
• Perform other duties as required and/or assigned
• Be flexible to work weekends and holidays on busy days
• Respond to customer complaints as first responder

The primary responsibility of a Cashier is to provide fast, friendly, and accurate check out services for customers. Cashiers may be required to perform a variety of duties depending on business needs, it is important to be flexible and willing to work in a team environment.

The essential job functions include, but are not limited to:

• $20 / hour


• Execute a Clean, Friendly and In-Stock experience for every customer


• Accurately transacts customer items for checkout on POS units and all acceptable methods of payment


• Transact beer purchases in accordance with all state alcoholic beverage laws


• Balance cash drawer at beginning and end of each shift


• Process exchanges and refunds per company policy


• Accurately settle shift Pay Point reports


• Maintain clean and tidy checkout area


• Assist in stocking, rotating merchandise and marking labels


• Serve as first responder to customer complaints


• Train new cashiers


• Perform other duties as required and/or assigned


• Must be flexible and able to work weekends and holidays and store’s busiest days


• Employee must be able to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation

• Perform cleaning and light maintenance with prescribed chemicals


• May include periodic exposure to all outdoor conditions at all times of day and year


• Relevant cashier experience is preferred
