Job summary

US Grocery & Tobacco in Minnesota is seeking a friendly Cashier to join our team. You will ring up sales, take payments, and issue receipts while delivering excellent customer service.

The ideal candidate will operate the cash register, learn store products and locations, assist customers, and help maintain a clean, organized store environment through teamwork.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is required.
• Ability to operate a cash register and handle transactions accurately.
• Strong communication and patient attitude with customers.

Responsibilities

• Greet each customer with a smile and actively assist while they are shopping.
• Work the register to ring up sales and complete transactions.
• Collect payments by cash and credit card
• Learn the products and their location within the store
• Scan customer IDs for sales of age restricted products
• Maintain cleanliness of entire store, including restroom, stockroom and exterior of building
• Regularly restock and organize shelves, cooler and counters to ensure the store is fully stocked for customers
• Collaborate with coworkers to ensure tasks on the store checklist are completed in a timely manner
• Maintain a solid knowledge of product inventory to assist customers with their selections
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management
