Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Customer service experience
• Effective communication skills
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)

Desired Previous Job Experience:

• Customer service experience
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk

Essential Job Functions:

1. Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly.
2. Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
3. Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures per company policy.
4. Adhere to company policies on cash handling, loss prevention, and restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
5. Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
6. Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
7. Stay current with store ads and promotions.
8. Follow all food safety regulations and guidelines.
9. Comply with safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
10. Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.
11. Create a welcoming environment for customers, answering questions about products.
12. Follow all laws and company guidelines.
13. Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
14. Manage conflicts reasonably and cooperatively.
15. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
16. Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
17. Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
18. Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
