Job summary

K1 Speed Lee's Summit is hiring a reliable Cashier for our fast-paced indoor karting venue in Kansas City area. You will handle customer transactions, operate the POS, assist with race coordination, and deliver excellent service.

This role also supports food prep and keeps the paddock lounge clean and organized. Part-time or full-time opportunities are available with commissions on race package sales and participation in a company-wide tip-sharing program.

Qualifications

• Experience in cashier or customer service preferred.

• Willingness to obtain Food Handlers Certificate.

Overview

K1 Speed is seeking a reliable and friendly Cashier to join our team at a fast-paced indoor karting venue. In this role, you will be responsible for handling customer transactions, managing the Point of Sale system, coordinating races, and providing exceptional customer service to all guests. In addition to cashier duties, you will assist with food preparation and help ensure that the Paddock Lounge remains clean and organized.

This position includes commissions based on race package sales, and all employees participate in a company-wide tip-sharing program.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Greet customers as they arrive and process their orders through the Point of Sale system
• Promote and sell race packages, memberships, and special offers while earning commission based on sales performance
• Coordinate and schedule races precisely and efficiently
• Assist guests with waivers, memberships, and check-in procedures
• Upsell menu items and promote specials to increase sales
• Handle credit card transactions accurately and efficiently
• Maintain accuracy when balancing cash drawers and processing refunds, credits, and exchanges
• Respond to customer inquiries and complaints in person and over the phone in a friendly and professional manner
• Answer customer questions regarding pricing, memberships, race formats, and venue policies
• Work closely with Track Attendants and management to ensure races remain on schedule
• Take orders, prepare food, and ensure timely delivery to customers
• Keep the Paddock Lounge clean and organized at all times, including stocking, sweeping, mopping, and wiping down surfaces
• Assist with other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Must be at least 16 years of age with reliable transportation
• Previous experience in a cashier or customer service role preferred
• Strong customer service skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic computer and point-of-sale skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to remain calm and professional when handling customer concerns
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Willingness to obtain and maintain a Food Handlers Certificate

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to bend, stoop, and reach
