Job Description

Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly.
- Process customer transactions efficiently and accurately at the check lane.
- Handle various tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures per company policy.
- Adhere to company policies on cash shortages/overages and loss control.
- Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
- Report pricing discrepancies and follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
- Stay updated on current and upcoming promotions and adhere to food safety regulations.
- Ensure safety procedures are followed, identify unsafe conditions, and report issues.
- Maintain equipment and report repairs needed.
- Create a welcoming environment for customers by assisting with product questions.
- Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Work effectively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflicts professionally and act with honesty and integrity.
- Assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults as needed.
- Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
Qualifications
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Customer service experience
- Effective communication skills
- Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction)
Desired Previous Job Experience:
- Customer service experience
- Experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk
