Responsibilities:

• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit/debit cards, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, and coupons, following company policies.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and work honestly to control loss.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (alcohol, tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Handle postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons according to policies.
• Stay updated on current and upcoming promotions and advertisements.
• Follow all food safety regulations and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions or incidents.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and report repairs needed.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers by assisting with product questions and ensuring they feel valued.
• Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflicts in a respectful and cooperative manner.
• Handle customer and business information with honesty and integrity.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
